Bug Fixes & FAQ
1. I have problems watching the videos – what can I do?
The most likely answer is that you need to update your flash media player. You can do this by going to this link to download the free adobe flash player.
You may also need to update your web browser. For Internet Explorer, go here: Latest IE download.
I’ll be updating this page as time goes on with more frequently asked questions – anything you’ve spotted, please just contact me.

Dear Jonathan, a few questions.
1. I would like to know more about the Anterior Tibialis are.
2. The more I looking and treating TP, the more I found ares that was “latent” and need more attention. Is that normal.
3. I make use of Myofascial release with a Foam Roller – the whole body. Have you got some comments on that and how I can incorporate this with TP treatment.
4. When I try to log in with my user name on Life After Pain, I get a message from WordPress that I’m not registered.
Many thanks

Hello Joep
It is really common to find other latent or secondary trigger points in an area once you have treated the active and primary trigger points. It is worthwhile treating these as once they are switched off, the relief you get tends to be longer lasting. A foam roller is another way of treating trigger points. It is not as specific but tends to treat them as with a broad brush. I suggest you focus on the specific trigger points in the beginning and treat them as in my videos. you can then finish off by using the foam roller as you can cover a lot of area and gain release of some of the latent and secondary trigger points.
I will speak to Naomi, my tech person about your problem of logging on.
Kind regards
Jonathan
Hi Jonathan,
I stumbled on your course while looking for self-help for fibromyalgia which is probably related to massive soft tissue damage suffered in a hang-gliding accident in 1974. I figured if your approach worked for you, it might help me. Anyway.
On Aug 31, 2010, I signed up for the Trigger Point Course Premium (PayPal transaction ID 11H062775Y284754R). I thought the package included “The Big Stretch.” However, every time I click on a link to that page I land on a page called “Your Membership Information.” Do I need to do something different to get to the extras in the premium package?
Also, do you mind editorial comments? I used to do website and database system development, so I know how easy it is to miss details on pages that follow a template. For example, I noticed that on the page “The Trigger Point Treatment System,” there is no link for downloading the clip on the cold pack (the one between “Myofascial Release” and “Neuromuscular Stretch Part 1″) and have an itch to fix it.
Kit
Hi Kit
I’ve discussed your problem with the Big Stretch with Naomi – who is my technical helper and she’s fixed it.
Thank you for the ‘editorial comment’. All help is truly appreciated. Again I will show this to Naomi and she should be able to fix it.
Hang gliding is wonderful – but it ‘takes no prisoners’ when things go wrong. Did you damage any areas in particular?

Jonathan
How do I stop charts from printing, they go on and on.
Hi there,
it is a 160 page document, so there will be a lot of pages! If you’re printing multiple copies, then I’d suggest checking your printer settings before you start. Also, printing double sided can help save paper.
Hi Jonathan,
Is there any risk involved by threating triggerpoints in my legs knowing that I suffer vericose veins?
I see that more people are logged in with the name JOEP, maybe it causes problems as I could read in the comments. Origenaly I was logged in under the name JOS but it was changed to JOEP althoug it would be nice to see my name again when I log in to the course
Best regards,
Jos
Hi Jonathan,
Is it possible to add subtitle or closed captioning to watch your all video logs? I would like to purchase “Treat Your Triggers Videos” if you provide subtitle-English or closed captioning.
Thanks,
Bill
Hi Bill,
thanks so much for you suggestion. Subtitling all the videos is quite a big task. I’ll add it to my list of improvements, however it may be quite a way away. Would movie transcripts be an acceptable alternative?
thanks
Jonathan
Hi Jos,
if you go to http://treatyourtriggers.com/amember/ you can alter your username and password. I’ll need to get back to you on the varicose veins.
Best Regards
Jonathan
Hi Jonathan,
After treating my leg triggers I suffer a burning pain during several days, could it be caused by the vericose veins or do I treat them to firmly?
Best regards,
Jos
Hi Jonathan,
Hope that everything is ok, could you please give me an answer on the vericose veins question, iff possible? Medical care, in Spain is just not a big thing
so I wonna help myself as much as I can, that’s why I’m so insisstent
.
Best regards,
Jo
hello Jos
This is a difficult question to answer from the other side of the world.
Normally varicose veins words present with an ache which is more common at the end of the day especially if you have been on your feet for most of the day.
it is not unusual to have trigger points in your lower leg which also cause an aching pain and therefore it is easy to be unsure where the pain comes from.
A burning pain is unusual for both problems.
If this pain comes on after your treatment then it is more likely to be a result of your treatment. it may be that you are treating the trigger points to vigourously and that you need to be more gentle. So I suggest that this is the first thing you do – you use less pressure and treat fewer trigger points. then see what your leg feels like.
also try not treating and see whether you still have the burning pain – then it is obviously coming from your varicose vein or from another cause.
kind regards
Jonathan
PS As I am not able to take a full history, examine you or to view your investigations, my comments will be general suggestions which you may choose to pursue with your own medical practitioner.
Hi, which one is the subscription for The Muscle Pain Solution Exercise Course.. Im trying to click on the subscription but different title description so Im a bit confused.. I already have the Trigger point Videos so I only the exercise videos.. thanks
Corina
I’m happy with the course and using the technique with my clients at my clinic, Im a Remedial Massage Therapist and its been very helpful. There is one question though,
why is it that when I do trigger point release, some people say that it aggravates the pain more.. I don’t have the answer to this, can you explain to me why.. Although most of the people
I treated, were happy and I get repeat business.. only few have this confusing result of aggravating their pain when I did the trigger point release..
Would appreciate your prompt reply..
Thanks
Corina
Hi Corina
It is quite common for there to be flare of symptoms [especially pain ] after many types of therapy and this certainly can happen with myofascial release. Usually the flare lasts a few days and then settles and in most cases the person feels considerably better than before the treatment. Sometimes the flare can last over a week. In these hypersensitive people I would recommend treating less triggers [sometimes even just a couple] – but try to sort out the primary TrP in the area and treat that- often that is all they need.
It is always a good idea to warn patients before that a flare may occur but that this is a good sign – because
this means they a likely to respond well.

Hi Jonathan,
(See my posted comment – January 26, 2011 at 5:09 am)
Sure, I would like to see transcripts for all the video you offer before I will consider to purchase “Treat Your Triggers Videos. It might be hard to follow for you to speak and a transcript at the same time because I can’t hear.
Thanks,
Bill
Hello Bill,
I’m sorry, we don’t currently offer transcripts for the videos. It’s something I’ll look into for the future though.
Hi Jonathan,
I am interested in the Mind/Body course, could it be possible to give a brief rundown on the course.
Thank you Helen
Hello Helen,
you can find more info on the course here: http://lifeafterpain.com/info/landing/discover-how-to-get-rid-of-pain-without-medication-or-surgery
It’s basically an online video course explaining a different way to understand pain so that you’re able to deal with it more effectively, and in some cases reduce it significantly.
